In brief, I am the lead singer in the rock bands With Love and Squalor (based in New York City) and Pictures of Lily. In 2012, I’m recording a companion CD to my novel The Expatriates’ Guide to Heartbreak. It’s mostly rock music, with some folk and French lounge songs thrown in. All the songs are based on characters, chapters and lines from the novel; the CD will be packaged and sold with the print edition of the book.
I am also a kirtan walli and have led kirtans throughout the Northeast. I sing chants from the Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Sufi and Native American traditions, and I continue to study vocals, mantra, chanting, and sacred sound with masters from many traditions.
