Welcome

Welcome to the home page of Lee Harrington. It is an honor to have you visit this website, and I am always grateful for the opportunity to connect with new friends, readers, and fans.

If you are visiting this site for the first time, I encourage you to join our community and introduce yourself. I guarantee you will meet some of the nicest, most intelligent, funny, engaging, and supportive people I have ever encountered. I have come to regard my online community as part of my family. And there is always room for more.

On my BOOKS, ESSAYS AND STORIES pages, you’ll find updates on current and forthcoming books, essays and screenplays. You’ll also find lots of “insider” information on my writing process and how these books and ideas came to be. Here, you’ll also have the opportunity to read excerpts of both past and current work and sneak previews of forthcoming books.

Those who are interested in the writing, editing and publication processes will also have the opportunity to join our Writers’ Salon, where you can view and review samples of works-in-progress; offer input on new characters, jacket covers, and titles; and even win prizes in one of our many contests.  You can also access installments of the original “Rex and the City” column which appeared in Bark magazine from 2000 – 2009, as well as installments of my current Bark column: “The Chloe Chronicles” (about my new dog Chloe).

My NEWS AND EVENTS pages contain latest updates on readings, appearances, and charitable events related to my both my writing life and my musical life. You can also find up-to-the-millisecond updates on my Facebook and Twitter pages as well.

For my dog-loving audience, I encourage you to visit WWW.REXANDTHECITY.NET—the website for my memoir Rex and the City: True Tales of a Rescue Dog Who Rescued a Relationship. In 2011, I re-released Rex and the City as a special expanded eBook edition and 10% of all sales proceeds of this eBook edition are donated to animal rescue.

Also at www.rexandthecity.net you will find the latest news on our sponsored Shelter-Dog-of-the-Month, plus lots of fun forums, contests and prizes—all tailored to our dog-loving friends.

I have another book in the pipeline: a novel entitled The Expatriate’s Guide to Heartbreak. The story is structured as a modern-day heroine’s journey, and my main characters are: an American triathlete on the lam from love, an Irish chef on the lam from the law, and a PhD candidate in Classical studies on the lam from her dissertation committee; plus an assortment of eccentric Anglo ex-pats whose interests range from to Wiccan herbology to motor yachting to astral projection. Each of them is recovering from various types of heartbreak, and each of them has his/her own unique cure. We’ll be launching a special web page devoted to The Expatriate’s Guide in Spring 2012.

On my MUSIC page (currently under construction) you will find news, updates, listings and events related to my kirtan band, my rock bands, forthcoming CDs, and blogs on the songwriting and recording process. It has been wonderfully exhilarating and exciting to embark on a new musical path after almost two decades of full-time writing. So please join in the fun.

Thank you again for visiting. It is truly an honor.
